"Music is the exaltation of the mind derived from things eternal, bursting forth in sound." As part of our commitment to excellence in the arts, we pride ourselves in providing a well-rounded musical education for our students. Instrumental music at Cardinal O'Hara High School is not just an extracurricular activity, but forms part of our academic curriculum. It is a "major" subject and class on the roster, meaning that students receive a grade for participation in the program. The course refines instrumental technique, music reading skills, and musical interpretation, and fosters a lifelong love of music. Students also receive a weekly private lesson on their instrument from instructors who are expert teachers and professionals in their field.
